Next to the public library in a heavily ethnic area , its colorful placards looked enticing. Inside I discovered authentic Haitian cuisine, of which I am extremely ignorant. I chose the chicken stew and Haitian rice, both had names I did not catch.
Food was extremely authentic, very tasty, and a new experience. Eating chicken with the bones cooked in was reminiscent of life in America in the 1980’s.
Beware, I was quoted $10.65 and my receipt reflects such, but my card was charged $11.05. I didn’t make a stink over a $.40 up charge. I felt it was a little pricey but will admit there was enough rice and chicken left over for a subsequent meal.
On my second go, I had the fried goat with fried plantains, and a meat pie stuffed with chicken, boiled egg, and vegetables. Still a bit expensive but definitely a authentic experience.
Has been my favorite Haitian restaurant in Orlando for over 5 years!!! The turkey in gravy with rice and beans Is soo good ! The plantains were fresh and the pikliz had just the right spice. If you love perfectly flavored food then this is the place to go! They bless you on the amount of food and it's at a very good price. Good people with nice hospitality. Thank you as always ❤️❤️❤️
